This is the scissortail that has assumed the entire area belongs to them and continuously chases all the other birds in the area, including the eagles. While we were in the boat the other day we found the scissortail nest in this hole in a tree next to the eagle’s nesting tree. All the birds that are nesting out over the water in the old dead tree area are using holes for their nesting sights. There are swallows, blackbirds, and scissortails. I thought the last two birds built nests in tree branches, but obviously they can be flexible in their choices.
